The Uniden HomePatrol-2 is one of the most popular digital police scanners on the market. This versatile scanner allows you to easily tune in to communications from a wide range of public safety, police, fire, ambulance, aircraft, military, weather, and other services.

Simply enter your zip code or city, and the HomePatrol-2 will automatically select the channels in use in your area. The scanner follows communications on APCO 25 Phase 1, Phase 2, X2-TDMA, Motorola, EDACS, and LTR trunked systems, as well as conventional and various types of trunked channels, including Motorola Type I, Type II, Type IIi Hybrid, Type II Smartnet, Type II Smartzone, Type II Smartzone Omnilink, and Type II VOC; LTR Standard; Project 25 Standard; Motorola X2-TDMA; P25 Phase I and Phase II; EDACS Standard (Wide), Narrowband (Narrow), and Networked (Wide/Narrow); and EDACS ESK.

The scanner covers a wide frequency range (25-512 MHz and 758-960 MHz, excluding cellular telephone bands). The range control feature allows you to adjust the number of channels selected based on your location and the system's location, with small range settings resulting in fewer systems and departments being selected. A selection bar lets you set the range in 2-mile increments, with each set tap representing 0.5 miles.

The HomePatrol-2 is digital-capable and receives all unencrypted, non-proprietary radio systems, including APCO-25 Phase I and Phase II digital, Motorola, EDACS, LTR, conventional analog, and P25 digital channels. It covers the USA and Canada, and an optional GPS receiver is also available.

The package includes the HomePatrol-2 scanner, a flex antenna, a desk stand, a USB cable, and 4 AA NiMH rechargeable batteries. While an AC or DC power adapter is not included, you can use the provided USB cable to connect the scanner to a standard smartphone USB power adapter or your computer's USB port with DC5V power output.
