Uniden Bearcat BC75XLT Handheld Scanner for Monitoring Aviation, Marine, Railroad, NASCAR, and Non-Digital Police/Fire/Public Safety
Category: whistler scanner
The Uniden BC75XLT is a versatile scanner that allows you to monitor a wide range of radio transmissions, including police and fire departments (encompassing rescue and paramedics), NOAA weather broadcasts, business/industrial radio, utilities, marine and amateur (ham radio) bands, as well as air band transmissions. However, scanning the 32,000 available frequencies can be a time-consuming and potentially frustrating endeavor. Uniden addresses this by equipping the BC75XLT with several convenient features, such as the Close Call capture technology, which instantly tunes to nearby transmissions to help you detect and identify local signals, and a comprehensive memory that can store up to 300 programmed channels.
The BC75XLT receives conventional channels on the following frequency ranges: 25-54 MHz, 108-174 MHz, and 406-512 MHz. Programming the unit is straightforward: press the "Hold" button to access the first available channel, which should display as "B:1 Channel 1 and 000.000." To program a frequency, press the orange "Function" key, followed by the "E" button. This will put the scanner in program mode, as indicated by the "PGM" icon in the top right corner of the display. Simply enter the desired frequency, including the decimal point, and press the "E" key to save it. Repeat this process to program additional frequencies, turning the knob to the right to access the next available channel.
Once all the desired frequencies have been programmed, you can begin scanning by pressing the "Scan" button. This sophisticated scanner offers 300 user-programmable channels, organized into 10 storage banks, allowing you to efficiently find the channels you want to monitor. The compact and lightweight design makes it easy to take the BC75XLT with you on the go, and the orange backlit display ensures easy readability even in low-light conditions.
For added convenience, the BC75XLT comes with pre-programmed frequencies for the most popular search categories, including Weather, Non-Digital Police/Fire/Emergency, Marine, Racing, Civil Air, Ham Radio, Railroad, CB Radio, and Other. This makes it simple to start listening to the channels that interest you right away.
It's important to note that the BC75XLT is not suitable for monitoring trunking or digital radio systems, such as Project 25, DMR, or NXDN. If you live in an area where these systems are in use, you may need to upgrade to a Uniden Digital model, such as the BCD436HP, BCD536HP, BCD996P2, BCD325P2, or HomePatrol-2.
The BC75XLT operates on two AA batteries, which can be either alkaline or rechargeable Ni-MH. Before purchasing, please confirm whether the communication you want to receive is digital or analog, as this product is designed for receiving radio transmissions only and does not have two-way communication capabilities.
If you need any assistance with your BC75XLT, Uniden's customer support website and email ([email protected]) or phone (1-800-297-1023) are available to help you with product setup and troubleshooting.
